My husband and I are military and will be moving to fairbanks, alaska in september.?
i need as much information, advice, facts as we can get we both have lived in florida all of our lifes.questions that i also have is how do people do their laundry there? there is so many places that doesn't have a washer and dryer outlet. what about the trash service? garbage disposable? i see a lot of places are not pet friendly, we have two cats. perhaps a list of nice areas to live in fairbanks? how do you grocery shop? clothing stores? is a four wheel drive a MUST?

Why does fairbanks, alaska have such a high crime rate?
seems weird to me they are at the top of the list for assault, murder and robbery. isnt alaska just a bunch of tree loving hippies. where does all this crime come from? i didnt even think that many people lived there.
